Growth Campaign

At West Side Montessori School, community has always been at the heart of who we are. Whether you walked through the doors this morning or decades ago, WSMS has been a place where children and families find belonging, partnership, and community. For the past 60 years, it has been our greatest joy to support families as they begin on their educational journey.

WSMS has consistently strong enrollment with increasing demand for the Twos program. We strive to meet the needs of our community, and we are thrilled to meet this moment with a bold new step: The Growth Campaign, a $10 million investment in our school’s future.

Expand: We are expanding to include our youngest learners, infants and toddlers (3 months – 3 years). Our new Infant Toddler Center, located at 212 West 95th Street, will open shortly.

Enhance: We must enhance the physical infrastructure of our cherished historic home at 309 West 92nd Street, which has been the heart of our community and the foundation of our Multi-age Program (3-6 year-olds) for the past 50 years.

Honor: We are called to honor our founding principles and commitment to socio-economic diversity. Our expanded enrollment will increase our annual financial assistance from $1.5 million to $1.8 million, providing vital support to 20% of our families. Ensuring that our unique community continues to thrive.

The Growth Campaign is about more than bricks and mortar- -it’s about legacy. Fifty years ago, in 1974, the WSMS community came together to secure our beloved, now 118+ year home, at 309 West 92nd Street, that has nurtured thousands of children since.

We believe in the power of the early years when curiosity blooms, friendships form, and a lifelong love of learning takes root. We will now be there from first steps to first friendships.
