We are delighted to share information with you about West Side Montessori School’s Teacher Education Program (WSMS-TEP). You are considering a very important and rewarding profession—a career in which you can make a significant difference in the lives of children and their families.

Montessori education is based on critical understandings of human development and the importance of strong relationships. At the core of Montessori education is an attitude of respect: for each person, for the environment, and for all life. Respect for each child’s uniqueness leads to trust, and trust is essential for learning and growth.

WSMS-TEP offers a warm, diverse, and enthusiastic community within which to learn and grow. Our highly experienced faculty includes teachers who work in Montessori classrooms every day with young children and leaders of Montessori schools. Every one of us shares a deep commitment to prepare our adult learners for successful and fulfilling careers.

We are down to earth and, at the same time, very serious about the responsibility of educating young children. The work we expect from our students is challenging, but we believe it is also immensely satisfying. We are a learning community in which friends and colleagues listen to and encourage one another as they work together to become the best teachers they can be.
