We are seeking a part-time afternoon Montessori Guide or early childhood educator for our 5-year-old daughter in Harlem (near City College). Hours are Monday through Friday, 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM. (Note on Hours: We are currently finalizing our daughter's kindergarten enrollment. Depending on her school placement, the hours will either be 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM or 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Please let us know if you have flexibility for either shift!) The role focuses on guiding cognitive growth through purposeful play. A typical afternoon involves guiding her through 30 minutes of chess, 30 minutes of open-ended building blocks, and creative hands-on projects. We want an educator who understands how to prepare the environment and observe, guide, and challenge a child rather than direct or micro-manage.

A formal Montessori certification is NOT required, but you must understand and practice a child-led, Montessori-inspired approach (observing and guiding rather than lecturing).
Experience working with young kids.
