We are a new program looking to hire a primary teacher for our 3-6 class. Our program hours are 8:30-11:45 with additional paid planning time each week.

Responsibilities:

-Develop an enriching curriculum and environment to support children in the 3-5 program.
-Create monthly lesson plans to encourage learning in the areas of sensorial/math, language, practical life, art, grace and courtesy, etc.
-Observe children and keep track of development.
-Keep observations of class and students and communicate with parents at pick up and drop off, send weekly updates and hold parent teacher conferences.
-Guide assistant in process of supporting a peaceful classroom environment.

Experience:
-Previous experience working in a preschool aged classroom.
-Understanding of and ability to implement early childhood principles.
-Ability to develop /adjust curriculum to meet the needs of the individual child and class community.
-Communicates clearly and respectfully with parents and staff.
-A deep love of working with children and an excitement about the creative process of developing materials/curriculum for students.

Requirements:
Must hold a Montessori certification in 3-6 or be in the process of completing the training.

We have a strong focus on inquiry based art processes and prefer a teacher who incorporates art projects in their teaching process.

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Little Nest is a small half day Nursery school located in the NYC suburb of Nyack NY. We value creativity, curiosity and integrity in our staff.
