Description of Position

MONTESSORI PREK CO-TEACHER POSITION 2024-2025

Collective Kind provides mindful and ethical early care for working families of all backgrounds. Our Montessori programs are nature-based and grounded in anti-bias education with the family and community at the center. Our micropreschools are open to children 2-5YOS. Tuition is run on a sliding scale so that our program can be financially accessible to more families.

Slope school team includes:
-Three (3) full time morning teachers/class 8:00-4:00 (class 8:30-3:30)
-Administrative and curricular support from Collective Kind’s founding team and administrative staff

We are looking to set up teams who can compliment each other bringing different skills into the classroom, looking for a team comprised of (1) leadership experience with a drive to collaborate, problem solve and strong initiative, (2) one NYS certified teacher in ECE, (3) Montessori experience or certification (4) special needs experience (5) your own passions and interests!

2024-25 POSITION
Staff Week August 26th 2024 - June 2025 following school calendar breaks plus July OR August
Hours Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:00 PM
Compensation Based on pay scale

Responsibilities include:
-Creating a learning environment that is welcoming for and supportive of all types of learners, respectful of the child and supports the development of independence, concentration, coordination and care of self, community and the environment.
-Building a collaborative and effective teaching team based on clear communication where all teachers are able to share their skills and learn from each other.
Lesson planning, creating classroom materials, projects and activities following Collective Kind’s Montessori, anti-bias and nature-based curriculum.
-Being reliable (on time and consistent), taking care of the classroom environment (daily tidying and cleaning), changing diapers for children not yet toilet trained.
-Equitable, warm and understanding communication (emails, meetings and phone calls) with families.
-Modeling kind interactions with our greater community.
-Receiving and providing feedback so that your school team can learn and grow together.
-Observation and documentation of the children’s experiences through video, photos and written notes.
-Writing weekly school newsletter for families to share a deeper view into work happening in the classroom.

Experience:
We are looking for a teacher who has
-Previous experience working in a Montessori preschool classroom
-Montessori Certification/Experience
-Special Education experience is a plus
-Has leadership experience

Compensation:
Salaries are determined by Collective Kind’s dynamic compensation calculator.
Starting salary for this position $47,463
