Prepare young children for lifelong learning by easing them into a carefully prepared and organized educational environment.
Contribute to the social and emotional development of the children.
Establish and maintain a safe, nurturing, and clean learning environment for the children.
Work collaboratively with an assistant teacher and delegate tasks to improve the flow of the classroom.
Create and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that meet the interests and individual abilities of the children and develop their artistic and practical capabilities.
Provide an array of engaging child-directed activities for daily work periods.
Observe and track children’s development and prepare progress reports.
Understand, comply with, and uphold our Core Values, standards, and education program.
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to childcare.
Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of proven experience working with children in a Montessori school setting.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred but will accept Associate’s Degree in education or a related field or a current CDA certification.
Montessori teaching credential.
Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and Montessori educational methods.
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
A passion for working with young children.
The ability to lift a maximum of 45 pounds daily, multiple times per day.
