The Caedmon School, a Montessori school seeks enthusiastic candidates for Part-time Early Childhood Associate teacher positions for the 2025-2026 school year. We seek candidates who understand the role of teacher as a facilitator of student inquiry and the importance of a carefully prepared learning environment.
Responsibilities:
-Work with and help the Head Teacher in preparing and maintaining an emotionally responsive, nurturing, accepting, and safe classroom environment that provides both independent and social learning that meets the varying needs of the students
-Plan and work collegially with the grade level team
-Support Head Teacher in conducting family conferences and writing bi-weekly class notes and end of year narrative reports
-Attend all faculty meetings; serve on committees as required, participate in one task force each year, seek and attend professional development opportunities
-Participate in weekly meetings with administration about student growth and curriculum
Qualifications
-Extreme fondness for very young children
-Bachelor’s degree required, Montessori experience/ Montessori certification preferred
-1-3 years teaching experience preferred
-Must have experience and be knowledgeable about Early Childhood development and education
-Enthusiastic about working with small children in a mixed-age classroom
-Strong classroom management skills
-Support Head Teacher in planning and implementing the Montessori curriculum
-Energetic, responsible and professional
-A collaborative work ethic with strong oral and written communication skills
-Comfortable and confident in communicating with parents and caregivers
