Bergen-Lafayette Montessori School (BLMS) is excited to announce an opening for a Head Teacher position in our Elementary class. We are seeking a talented individual to step into this role and continue the legacy of exceptional education and care in one of the most diverse cities in the U.S.

We are seeking a Head Teacher for our Elementary class, which serves children aged 6 to 12 years old. In this role, you will step into a newly forming classroom consisting of a small group of children (around 6) in first through third grade. We intend to keep the class size small, with no more than approximately 15 students in the program between Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary students. You will work closely with our dedicated administration to create a warm, engaging, and child-centered learning environment. We are fully prepared to support our Elementary teacher's success!

We are a small school and do not have the capacity to sponsor work visas. Montessori Expertise: Montessori Elementary credential (Elementary I and Elementary II preferred) and a minimum of 3 years of experience in an Elementary Montessori classroom preferred.
Language Skills: Proficiency in English, with bilingual (Spanish) abilities considered a plus!
Passion for Education: A deep commitment to child-centered learning and adaptability to the evolving needs of children, teachers, and the program.
Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills and a respectful approach to diverse perspectives and ideas.
Classroom Excellence: Ability to prepare and maintain a high-quality classroom environment, document and assess children’s progress, and actively engage parents in their child's education.
