Melville Montessori Preschool is a new Montessori school in Forest Hills servicing children aged 2-5 years old.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lead Montessori Teacher to join our team. As the Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our classroom programs and teachers. This is a leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for educating young children.

Duties:
- Manage a classroom of mixed ages from 2-5 years old
-Oversee the implementation of the Montessori methodology and work with the classroom teachers in presenting to the students
-Create a classroom curriculum that is based in Montessori learning working with the materials within the classroom and building upon them.
-Help the younger students with potty training and self sufficiency
- This is a year round position, Monday-Friday, 8 hour shift with 1 hour break - 9:00am-5/6:00pm exact hours as needed
approximate start day March/April 2025

~Degree in Montessori Ages 3-6
~At least 2 years teaching in a Montessori Classroom
~AA, Bachelors or Masters in Early Childhood preferred
~All required trainings per DOHMH- Mandated Reporter, SIDS, AHT, Foundations in Early Childhood, etc.
~Multi-lingual a plus
Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

While most daycares focus solely on play, our classroom approach fosters independence and growth, just like Maria Montessori intended. We offer dual languages- French & Spanish as well as optional dance, yoga & soccer classes held onsite.
