This is an opportunity to work with an experienced staff while acquiring first-hand experience with the Montessori classroom, philosophy and materials.

Head teacher responsibilities include managing a group of children, planning weekly curriculum, presenting lessons, classroom preparation and general classroom/staff supervision.

Assistant teacher responsibilities include working with a lead teacher in a professional capacity, helping wherever needed in the classroom. You will be guided through lesson planning, group work, individual work, record keeping, classroom maintenance, preparation of materials and helping the children with their daily needs.

The hours are 8AM to 4PM, 5 days a week, from September through early-June (school year) and mid-June through late July (summer program). Our after school program provides additional employment opportunities.

Credentials sought:
A Baccalaureate in Early Childhood or a related field of study and two years of experience
Or
A study plan for meeting the requirements of an Early Childhood Baccalaureate over the next seven years.
Study plan eligibility requires:
1) an AA or AS in Early Childhood with practicum
Or
2) 90 or more undergraduate credits plus one year of experience with preschool, kindergarten or grades 1 or 2
or
3) Baccalaureate in any academic subject and 1 year experience up to 3rd grade.

Assistant teachers can be working towards these credentials.
