Tuition for 2023-2024 is listed below. Tuition can be paid in 1, 2, or 6 installments. Payment plans are available and approved by the TEP Program Director. Contact Lisanne Pinciotti at lpinciotti@wsmsnyc.org.
- Infant Toddler (0-3): $7,600
- Early Childhood (2.5-6): $8,800
- Elementary I (6-9): $8,800
- Elementary I-II (6-12): $12,900
- Elementary II Standalone (9-12): $8,800 (No prior credential required.)
- Elementary II Add-On (+ 9-12): $5,600 (AMS-recognized Elementary I credential required.)
- Elementary II Add-On for WSMS-TEP ELI Graduates (+ 9-12): $4,400
- Early Childhood Overview for Elementary Program students who do not have an Early Childhood credential: $750
- Administrator, Model 1 (prior Montessori Administrative experience.): $7,600
- Administrator, Model 2 (Prior Montessori teaching credential at any level): $7,600
- Administrator, Model 3 (No prior Montessori administrative experience or teaching credential.): $8,400
- Montessori Inclusion Endorsement: $3,950

- Enrollment fee for Montessori Inclusion Endorsement: $1000
Payment of the enrollment fee indicates your confirmed enrollment into the program. It includes fees related to student membership in the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE). The fee also covers all required books and materials for the academic and practicum phase of the program.
Scholarships
West Side Montessori School Teacher Education Program is committed to ensuring that our educational offerings are accessible to all qualified candidates. Those who need assistance with covering the cost of tuition may apply for financial aid according to the instructions below. In order to apply for a WSMS-TEP scholarship, applicants must have previously submitted a program application and all related documents.
WSMS-TEP Scholarships
Summer Program Deadline: May 10, 2024. Notification: By June 14, 2024.
Fall Program Deadline: August 16, 2024. Notification: By September 13, 2024.
In 2017, the WSMS Board of Trustees began a scholarship program to provide tuition assistance to WSMS-TEP students. Awards are designated based on financial need, a compelling personal statement, and confirmation of acceptance/enrollment in WSMS-TEP.
All submissions must be made electronically. The WSMS-TEP scholarship application is linked below and must be completed online. Please be sure to upload the linked financial statement found below along with a copy of your form 1040 with your scholarship application. For questions, please contact TEPfinaid@wsmsnyc.org.
Roslyn D. Williams Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship celebrates the mission of Roslyn Davis Williams, the founder of Project CHAMP, and is awarded to one individual who identifies as Black/African American in each cohort year. Applicants who wish to be considered will submit relevant financial documentation and complete the scholarship application, describing their ongoing commitment to providing equitable access to Montessori education for the children and families in their communities.
Roslyn D. Williams, a Montessori parent who became a leader in American Montessori education, followed a long tradition of Black educators who sought to end the scourge of racial segregation in America. In 1967, facing the imminent closure of her daughter’s Montessori preschool program, Williams (along with other parents) founded the Central Harlem Association of Montessori Parents (CHAMP, Inc.) and was chosen as CHAMP’s leader. In the years to come, Roslyn D. Williams followed her forebears in selfless acts of service to her community: to make permanent a CHAMP preschool that embraced racial integration and to build on that foundation with a Montessori teacher education program for adults.
Today, the CHAMP Montessori Teacher Education Program (now the West Side Montessori School Teacher Education Program) continues to prepare adults in the Montessori method of instruction and celebrates an ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, as demonstrated by its graduates. American Montessori Society (AMS) Scholarships
Every year, the American Montessori Society awards teacher education scholarships to aspiring Montessori teachers in support of their professional growth.
The application period for the 2024 – 2025 academic year opens February 1, 2024 and closes April 19, 2024.
AMS scholarships are available only to those teachers enrolled within the current academic year. Please note that AMS scholarship opportunities are for teacher candidates, and not for those planning to enroll or currently attending an Administrator or MIE course. Applicants must be enrolled and studying during the 2024 – 2025 academic year.
