Description of Position

The ideal candidate would need:

classroom experience (Montessori, CDA or Bachelors)
a genuine and profound love for children
an understanding of child growth and development
to respect each child according to their individual pace of development
patience, compassion, and mild mannered
the ability to multi-task and deal with a variety of situations calmly and peacefully as they occur

to be organized, clean and neat keeping in mind our classrooms as a home
Montessori experience a plus but not required (will train on Montessori Materials used)
to be available to begin work as soon as possible
Job Type: Full-time and or Part-time positions available 8am-5pm or 8:00am-4:00pm

Experience: classroom: 2 year

Education: Associate, MACTE certification, CDA, or Bachelors

Responsibilities:

* Fully implements the Montessori curriculum in accordance with directives and guidelines for implementation, demonstrates understanding of school’s educational programs (e.g. Classroom environment, student work bulletin boards, parent communications, classroom management, parent reports, assessments, center management, etc.) Create weekly lesson plans, writing monthly anecdotal records, assessments and portfolios

* Organizing and leading activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, spanish, music and movement, storytelling,circle time

* Observe and record children's performance, behavior, social development and physical health

* Attend to children's basic needs such as hygiene, meal times and potty, including supervising meal times, nap, potty time, playground times, organized and free play

* Follow center’s curriculum in providing a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use both in learning activities and in imaginative play. Assesses developmental needs of children and works to incorporate individual students’ learning, physical and emotional needs through providing a variety of materials and activities that encourage children to explore their environment and develop social skills, problem-solving skills and new ways of thinking.

* Caring for and teaching children through all activities of the day

* Providing a safe and stable environment for children to learn and play. Keeping the classroom activities and toys clean, neat and orderly.

* Assuring the happiness and general well-being of the children* Keeping parents informed

Maintains professional development requirement for Montessori Certification Standards (AMS or MACTE) or Maintains licensure requirements as dictated by local or state guidelines.
* Perform other duties as required

* Excellent classroom management and strong organizational skills
