Qualifications | Experience: classroom: 2 year Education: Associate, MACTE certification, CDA, or Bachelors Language: English Must be 18 years of age or older. Responsibilities: * Fully implements the Montessori curriculum in accordance with directives and guidelines for implementation, demonstrates understanding of school’s educational programs (e.g. Classroom environment, student work bulletin boards, parent communications, classroom management, parent reports, assessments, center management, etc.) Create weekly lesson plans, writing monthly anecdotal records, assessments and portfolios * Organizing and leading activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, spanish, music and movement, storytelling,circle time * Observe and record children's performance, behavior, social development and physical health * Attend to children's basic needs such as hygiene, meal times and potty, including supervising meal times, nap, potty time, playground times, organized and free play * Follow center’s curriculum in providing a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use both in learning activities and in imaginative play. Assesses developmental needs of children and works to incorporate individual students’ learning, physical and emotional needs through providing a variety of materials and activities that encourage children to explore their environment and develop social skills, problem-solving skills and new ways of thinking. * Caring for and teaching children through all activities of the day * Providing a safe and stable environment for children to learn and play. Keeping the classroom activities and toys clean, neat and orderly. * Assuring the happiness and general well-being of the children* Keeping parents informed Maintains professional development requirement for Montessori Certification Standards (AMS or MACTE) or Maintains licensure requirements as dictated by local or state guidelines. * Excellent classroom management and strong organizational skills |
