  • Review all “Peeks of the Week” for content and consistency.
  • Proofread/edit school accreditation and yearly reports, school-wide newsletters, conference and ISAAGNY reports.
  • Review educational materials and make recommendations on purchases.
  • Monitor materials ordered and the ways they are used and shared by classrooms.
  • Maintain an inventory of the school’s educational materials and equipment in conjunction with teachers.
  • Plan and provide onsite professional development education for teachers and assistants.
  • Mentor new teachers and train experienced teachers about the use of materials and equipment or help them improve their skills.
  • Advise teachers on the content of the AMS, NYC DOHMH, Middle States Commission on Elementary Education, and ISAAGNY standards and provide instruction on implementing the standards in the classroom.
  • Assist teachers and staff with the planning and implementation of Parent Education.
  • Plan and facilitate Coffee Chats with the Executive Director.
  • Create, plan and facilitate the 8-week summer camp program.
  • Assist the Executive Director with the yearly faculty evaluations.
  • Assist the Executive Director with the interviewing of new faculty.
  • Provide a list of substitutes for the teachers to contact when they plan to take PTO.
  • Plan and record yearly Lock Down and Evacuation Drills
  • Act as Liaison for the Department of Health visitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Montessori certification in Infant Toddler and or Early Childhood, MEd. in an education related field, New York State Teaching license birth to 2nd grade, experience in the classroom, excellent writing and editing skills, organization and problem solving skills a must. Experience working with adult learners a plus.
